Do these wells require special equipment or something to build? I'm just trying to understand why they don't already exist. I mean, in most countries wells were being dug going WAY back using nothing but shovels. Is the ground extremely rocky or something there? Oh, also, I noticed in this video they show them using a basic hand pump. In another video they were asking for funds to set up solar powered pumps. Is there a reason the hand pump wouldn't work at that other location? I've used hand pumps before and you get lots of water with little effort. However, I don't understand how they work or why they might not work at this or that location.
